What is on this page

If you would rather just ask, ring us on 07812 344364 or email catriggkennels@gmail.com.

1. Who we are

Catrigg Retrievers is a licensed dog breeder based at The Old Dairy, Henside Lane, Langcliffe, Settle, North Yorkshire BD24 9PZ. Ian McKenna is responsible for the information you send us. You can reach him on 07812 344364 or at catriggkennels@gmail.com.

This website was built and is looked after by Castleberg Digital. That matters in one specific way, which is set out in section 4.

2. What the forms collect

There are two forms on this site. The enquiry form asks for your name, email address, telephone number, your postcode and whether you have a preference between a dog and a bitch. The puppy application form asks for those things and a little more about your circumstances: your address, whether you have other pets, whether you have owned a dog before, how long a puppy would be left alone, who the puppy is for, and the kind of home it would be raised in.

We ask about your circumstances because we place puppies rather than sell them to whoever asks first, and the answers are the only way to have that conversation before you drive here.

What happens to it. When you submit either form the answers are sent to us as an email and nowhere else. There is no database behind this website and no account for you to have. The email is delivered by Resend, which handles the sending on our behalf and does not use your details for anything of its own. We keep the emails for as long as we are dealing with your enquiry, and delete them when we are not.

We do not sell your details, we do not share them with other breeders, and we do not add you to a mailing list. If you want your enquiry deleted, ask and it will be.

3. Cookies on this site

This website sets one cookie of its own, called cb_consent. All it records is whether you agreed to analytics and when you were asked. It holds no name, no address and nothing that identifies you, it lasts six months, and it is set the moment you answer the question — whichever way you answer it. Once you have made a choice there is no way to use the site without that cookie being set, because remembering not to ask you again is the only thing it is for.

If you say no, nothing further is loaded and no other cookie is set. The site works exactly as it does for everybody else. Saying no costs you nothing, which is why the two buttons are the same size.

If you close the banner, press Escape, or click outside it, that is not an answer and nothing is written at all. You will be asked again on the next page.

If you say yes, Google Analytics loads and sets its own cookies, named _ga and _ga_ followed by a code. Those are what let it tell a returning visitor from a new one. Google’s own privacy notice is at policies.google.com/privacy.

Changing your mind. There is a “Change your cookie choice” button at the bottom of every page on this site. Using it clears cb_consent, deletes the Google cookies if they were set, and asks the question again. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings, which has the same effect.

Nothing on this site loads until you have agreed to it. Until then no request is made to Google at all — not the analytics script, and nothing that quietly announces your visit ahead of it.

4. Who the analytics belong to

The Google Analytics property for this website is set up and operated by Castleberg Digital, the agency that built and looks after the site, and not by Catrigg Retrievers. Catrigg Retrievers receives a monthly summary of how the site is doing and has no access to the underlying data. Google acts as a processor for that data; their privacy notice is linked above.

What it is used for is narrow: which pages people read, how they arrived, and roughly where in the country they are. It is not used to build a profile of you, it is not used for advertising, and it is not shared with anyone else.

5. Reviews

The reviews shown on this site are the ones people have left on Catrigg’s Google Business Profile. They are already public on Google, and we display the reviewer’s name and words as written. We deliberately do not load the reviewers’ profile photographs, because doing so would fetch an image from Google for every visitor whether or not they had agreed to anything.

If you have left a review and would rather it did not appear here, you can edit or remove it in Google, or tell us and we will take it off the site.

6. Your rights

You can ask what information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Ring us on 07812 344364 or email catriggkennels@gmail.com and we will deal with it. There is no charge and you do not need to give a reason.

If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
